Fun Photoshoot and more at Fortune Island

I am a great fan of Greek Mythology, I love reading books and watching movies about Greek God and Goddesses. How I wish that I could visit Greece and feel how it is like to be Athena or Venus. Finally, with no passport and no visa required my wish was granted.

If you are thinking I found genie in a bottle that have had brought me to Greece, No it's not something like that. I have heard about this island with Grecian Acropolis inspired theme just near Manila. I've done my research and organized a day of fun photoshoot on May 25, 2014 with the gang in Fortune Island, Nasugbu Batangas.

Fortune Island
The once luxury resort that was owned by former Batangas Governor Jose Antonio Leviste is now called an "abandoned" island resort. Access to the island is via membership but because of the declining its members the resort was closed. The cabanas, clubhouse, swimming pool, helipad and any other resort features are now dilapidated because of lack of maintenance. The resort was opened to the public just years back. I asked some locals who owns the island but they are avoiding to answer the question. They only said that a Korean National is renting the island. My question is, to whom?

The Photoshoot
Fortune Island has a Grecian inspired pillars theme that stand in the rocky cliff of the island together with lion statues and maiden statues overlooking the West Philippine Sea. It is the main attraction of the abandoned resort dub as a replica tourism.

Another feature of the abandoned resort is the San Diego warship museum that is located in the far end of Fortune Island. It was opened to commemorated the discovery of the ship on 1992 by former Batangas Governor Jose Antonio Leviste and his former wife now Senator Loren Legarda. But because of lack of maintenance the museum is now also dilapidated.

San Diego warship museum
The San Diego sank in Dec. 14, 1600 after a battle between forces led by Antonio de Morga and Dutch Naval Forces led by Olivier Noort off the waters of Nasugbu Bay. San Diego was discovered and excavated by French marine explorers in 1992. The discovery was hailed worldwide as one of the greatest archaeological finds of the past century

After our fun photoshoots we prepared our lunch like a boodle fight.

After lunch was our swimming time. Fortune Island has cream white sands and crystal clear waters but also rocky.

You can also do cliff diving or jumping on the other side of the island.

We concluded our fun filled day in Tagaytay where he had the famous bulalo and sisig for dinner.

Feel free to share your thoughts about your exploration experience in Fortune Island in the comment section below. :)
