The province of Ilocos is divided into two, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte which is located in the Nothern part of the Philippines, particularly Luzon. There are many tour operators offering cheap packackage for Ilocos Road Trip. For 3000 pesos this is the most 'sulit' road trip for long weekend.
So below are the sites I love the most in Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte
1. Windfarm at Bagui Ilocos Norte - 20 units of 230 ft high wind turbines along the shoreline of Bangui Bay Ilocos Norte.
2. Kapurpurawan Rock Formation - is a white limestone located on the rocky coast of Burgos Ilocos Norte.
3. Sunset at Kapurpurawan Rock Formation - we were just right in time to witness the breathtaking sunset near at Kapurpurwan Rock formation overlooking some Brugos windmills.
4. Patapat Viaduct - connects Maharlika highway from Laoag Ilocos Norte to Cagayan Valley Region. The mountain ranges and shoreline are very scenic.
5. Sunset at Paoay sand dunes shoreline - After the thrilling 4x4 type jeep ride at Paoay sandunes we've got a big time bonus of sunset view.
6. Calle Crisologo at night - Vigan City was recently announced as one of the city wonders in the world. Visiting Vigan feels like travelling back in time because the old houses were preserved.
7. Dancing Fountain show at Vigan City - Another big bunos during our trip was we witnessed the dancing fountain show at Plaza Salcedo in Vigan City and viewing is FREE :)
8. Baluarte - is a mini zoo privately owned by Chavit Singson, a well-known politician in the Philippines and a fan of Manny Pacquio, a boxing champion. I love this place because we got free viewing of Mayweather-Pacquio boxing fight :D
9. Sunrise at Blue Lagoon - Blue Lagoon is a cream-white beach at Pagudpod, Ilocos Norte
10. Hidden Garden - at the heart of Vigan City a garden called "Hidden Garden" is located. You cannot see it from the street, there's a narrow passage leading to this beautiful garden. The garden is small but has various plants that are for sell.
