The Unforgettable Mt. Romelo Day Hike

After the success of our Taal Volcano hike I wanted to level up the hiking experience of my group. So I decided to organized a day hike in Mt. Romelo last November 24, 2013.

Mt. Romelo stood in 300 MASL and nestled in the town of Siniloan, province of Laguna. It is known to others as Mt. Romelo but others call it Mt. Famy  which is the name of the neighbor town of Siniloan because they mistakenly known that it is part of Famy. The best attraction of the mountain is not the peak itself but the  several falls that nestled in the mountain.

Half Day Hike to Taal Volcano

Taal Volcano Crater Lake
Hosting and organizing a trip is not an easy task especially if you will do it for the first time, all of the attendees are stranger to you and all you have is a contact number of each of them. It was my first time to host and organize a meetup last November 3, 2014. The meet up group, MTAG was found by an Aussie guy Chris, who is having 6-month vacation here in the Philippines. Everyone is welcome to join, suggest, host and organized an event. Since I was the one who suggested the Taal Volcano hike, I was the one who hosted and organized it. Basically I am a quite person that will not initiate a conversation to a stranger but because I was the host and organizer I have no choice but to take the lead. So even at the beginning I feel like I have so many butterflies in my stomach, our first outdoor meetup was really a huge success.

Mt. Batulao Day Hike: A quick escape from the city buzz

MT. BATULAO
Nasugbu, Batangas
Jump-off point: Evercrest Golf Course, Nasugbu
LLA: 14.0408 N 120.8011 E 811 MASL

The first time I climbed Mt. Balutalao was when I joined the Nasugbu Trilogy Day Hike, climbing three peaks in one day - Mt. Pico de Loro, Mt. Talamitam and the Mt. Batulao. But because we reached the summit by  9PM I didn't had a chance to see the better view from the summit. From then on, I always wanted to go to Mt. Batulao on a day trek.

Nasugbu Trilogy- Pico de Loro, Mt. Talamitam & Mt. Batulao Day Hike

Parrot's Beak
Climb date: June 2, 2013

A week before the climb, I saw the invitation of the organizer posted on facebook page of LUCP (Let's Unite all the Climbers in the Philippines). I contacted the organizer and made the deposit of Php750. At first I was hesitant if I could finished the 3 mountains in one day. I just told my self that I must try. So at 2:30 AM I hit the road with 16 strange mountaineers, I just meet them for the first time.
