A Weekend in Baguio: Strawberry Picking

To complete your Baguio experience, strawberry picking is a must.
Strawberry season is from November to February. After witnessing the float parade, we headed to La Trinidad, Benguet for strawberry picking. From Athletic Bowl to La Trinidad the travel time is 30 minutes by taxi. It was moderately traffic at that time.

Strawberry picking is Php300/kilo but you can have it Php150/kilo in the stores outside the farm. Why is it expensive if you picked strawberries by yourself? Because strawberry plants are vulnerable. Picking strawberries should be done with handle and care. I believe half the price that you paid is for the experience of picking and the other half is for the strawberries.

It was very tempting to eat strawberries while picking but it is not advisable because you need to wash off first the previously sprayed chemicals in to the plants.

At the farm, you can also find lettuce and broccoli that you can pick too.

I will tell you a secret, so it's not secret anymore. That was the first time I eat fresh strawberry fruit in my 25 years of existence. :)
